A look at Rokoko’s groundbreaking smart suit.
Movie production is notoriously expensive, especially with the rise of CGI and the proliferation of special effects. Danish animation company Rokoko is trying to democratize motion capture with its groundbreaking smart suit.
Rokoko’s system wants to replace the expensive cameras and huge studios Hollywood typically requires to create motion tracking. With just a suit and computer, this tech enables greater accessibility of body capture.
The suits consist of 7 sensors and a head capture system that connects to wifi and allows users to apply body movements to any 3D character. As this tech becomes more affordable and ubiquitous, it opens the door for more creators to tell their stories.
